The Importance of the Annual General Meeting (AGM)
Every Corporation, not just condos must hold an Annual General Meeting (AGM). Our Corporation is our condominium Corporation M.T.C.C. 741. There are obvious costs and much time involved in preparing for an AGM. The process includes preparation of all documents contained in the mailed packages: Agenda, Special notes, Financial Statements for Skypark and the Recreation Center and a proxy. All the documents are then copied, placed in envelopes and mailed at least 15 days prior to the meeting being held, as outlined in the Condominium Act.
In order to hold an AGM, a quorum must be achieved. There must be 25% of units owners in attendance or represented by Proxy. If you cannot attend an AGM, remember to complete the Proxy which is the last page of the mailed document, and submit it prior to the meeting to show your interest and to allow us to hold the meeting on the chosen date.
